Point still is Miranda’s family bailed on APS. This is a single issue candidate who does not have credentials trials or even a demonstrated commitment to the school system. If for some reason APS ends up not fully opening in the fall, will her kids both be in APS schools regardless of how it looks? Can she commit to reenrolling her kids no matter what?

Miranda moved into the Drew neighborhood and plans to send her kids to school there, even though she could afford to live elsewhere or send them to private school. She supports equity, and raises for teachers, and wants ALL kids to have the chance to go back to school. Mary just repeats the same talking points from every other school board member ever, and doesn’t seem to care at all about getting kids back in the classroom.

Miranda is a white gentrifier family who moved into Green Valley. Her kids do not attend Drew. She pulled one out into PRIVATE SCHOOL. The other is in Montessori. So much for equity if you won't even send your kids to the neighborhood school in the historically black neighborhood.

As for Mary, whatever she did at McK with the moves, she didn't do it for her own kids. Her kids were too old to be impacted.

Actually MT's kids have been in Drew for a long time, but she was forced to withdraw them due to school closures issues. I've heard her say publicly her kids want to go back once school is in person again.

At least Mary isn't myopically focused on just one thing to the exclusion of everything else. Mary actually seems interested in a lot of problems facing APS, and without regard to whether they can be used to push anyone's return-to-school agenda.

If Miranda wins she's going to be beholden to the APE crazies who all voted for her. That's going to be a real problem for APS.

The APE group has the anti LGBTQ crowd, the school voucher crowd, lots and lots of Republican ties. And many of the ones who are Dems are DINOs.
