How is it pretentious or condescending. I honestly don't get it. Why is it pretentious not to like a show others enjoy? Why is it condescending to realize that means I'm still in touch with my own tastes and preferences and not caving to peer pressure to enjoy something popular? I didn't mean it in a condescending or pretentious way so I am confused as to why it's being taken that way.[/quote]

I am not PP and I personally love SC but I actually don't think this is what PP was saying. I think they're saying that sometimes its nice to find yourself going against the grain because it shows that your interests are anchored in your own free will and not in the opinions of the masses.

I don't think it has anything to do specifically with SC just like, sometimes its nice to know you have a mind of your own.
