Absolutely -- I'd love to see Rice or Jawando get in the race.
Rice is an empty suit, and the people who live in his council district know it. In 2014, after one term, he only got 75.9% of the vote in the Democratic primary, against an opponent who barely campaigned. In 2018, after two terms, he only got 73.4% of the vote, against an opponent who didn't campaign at all.
Pretty impressive for a Black man considering his district includes Damascus
No, those are the results for the Democratic primary. For the general election: 2010 (first term): 59.4% against the omnipresent Robin Ficker (40.5%) 2014 (second term): 59.5% against Dick Jurgena (40.4%) 2018 (third term): 71.1% against Ed Amatetti (28.8%) I oppose term limits, but given that we have term limits, I'm very glad that this is Craig Rice's last term. He intones, he empathizes, he shows his concern, and he does nothing.
