I know what my mom did for us and not having the time or energy to teach us how to cook beans didn't make her a bad mom as was implied. Nor does it make any mom who must accept charity a bad mom. Be thankful your mom had the luxury and time to teach you to cook. Some moms are working 2 jobs to make ends meet and are just doing the best they can.
