No. I am continuing to meet up outside and masked for now, as the CDC and Fauci recommends for mixed groups (some vaccinated, some not).
Yeah I’d say see your mom, but outside and masked, just to be safe.
I am surprised people wouldn’t see their parents outside before vaccination. Outdoor transmission is extremely unlikely..to the point that the mask is not going to make any difference.
For some people their parents aren’t local. I posted a few pages ago that we won’t yet see my parents. If they were local and we could get together outside and distanced, of course. They live 500 miles away, and we are not comfortable with them being in our home until all adults are vaxxed. And rightly so they don’t want to travel that far only to stay in a hotel and see us for an hour or two each day.
This is us. My in laws live 6hrs away and have gotten the first dose. During the past year they’ve continued large family gatherings indoors. Someone who they socialize with even passed away from covid. They are in blue collar. Jobs, so are unable to work from home and have jobs that interact with lots of people everyday. We are happy they are getting vaccinated to reduce their risk, but we would not be comfortable hosting them overnight at our home or indoors until we are also vaccinated. We have an infant at home, are both working from home, and have been really careful. My parents live across the country and are fully vaccinated. If they lived driving distance, I would have no issue seeing them as they are retired, do not go anywhere and are low risk. I think it depends on what activities your parents are engaging in and your risk tolerance.
