No idea.  I am sure that MLS Next teams drew in new players for SYC and will continue to do so for both clubs.  I know this was the first weekend of play for Alexandria, and both Alexandria and Bethesda were among the last clubs to begin full contact practicing (I think Alexandria started about four to eight weeks later than Fairfax).  I know a few top Bethesda teams also had a few surprising results given their late start.  All of that began to straighten out as the season went on.  I am sure the clubs will scrimmage when the weather improves and people will beat their chest over what happens.  [/quote]

You are responding to the wrong person.  I don't struggle to believe that in the first game in nearly a year, one group of 12 year olds may move to another.  I also don't struggle to believe what I have seen, which is that the biggest coaching innovation that SYC seems to teach its players is that an individual player can do kick and run all by himself.  It's pure genius, along with display of math involving more than single digits in tallying the wins and losses in the earlier post.  Clown.[/quote]

I'm not previous poster but they also played about a month ago as well and SYC 08 also beat Alexandria.  On that same evening Alexandria 07 beat SYC.  Not sure what the result was during the first weekend.  I think the 08 game was more of an even game than the 07.[/quote]

Correct, they played twice this fall season already. The syc 2008 boys won 2-0 the first time and 3-0 the second time. Alexandria beat syc 07s 3-1

DS is an 08 at neighboring club and we attended all both ASA/SYC MLS games and plan to try out next spring for both sides. Alexandria 08 boys controlled both games and clearly are better coached and have higher soccer IQs. They had methodical build up and created many chances though not able to convert. SYC played very direct kick and run to a very skilled 9 who scored or assisted nearly all of the 5 goals across both matches. Alexandria 08 backs lack speed, and as a whole Alexandria 08 is extremely susceptible to the counter and have suspect finishing. [/quote]
