A few other threads said there will be a delay of the Nov. 9th opening so pulling it out here. Does anyone have more information?
I was told by a union organizer that teachers will be striking this Monday. To protest the plan for going back in person.
This makes me loathe the stupid parents supporting WTU even more. Do you still really think WTU has the kids' best interest at heart (looking at you PTA President who encourages parents to support WTU)?
I think asking for adequate safety measures is putting the students first. Health comes before in-person learning and no one should have to risk their health just so that DD can be in a school building.
They have spent tens of millions putting safely measures in place, and parents have a choice whether or not to send their kids back. How is that putting children firsts?
YES.
Thank you! PP here who said I loathe these WTU supporting parents. Not sure how the other pp knows that I have a DD, but she has an IEP and desperately needs her in-person spot that she got! She's getting further and further behind as DL isn't working at all for her. DCPS has similar safety measures in place as other places that have opened, but it's never enough. WTU wants unreasonable safety terms plus asking for more money and no teacher evaluations. Obstructing opening definitely won't help my kid.
Well DL is not working for my kid either and he does not have an IEP. Why should my kid suffer? It makes no sense to serve such few kids. This is a stupid plan.
