I did not read through the streams and streams of emails on this thread, but we had the same thing happen this month. Started taking pregnancy tests at 11 DPO and they were positive, but on 15 DPO the line looked lighter instead of darker (with my baby girl, they kept getting darker). Had my HCG tested at OB/Gyn's office 12 DPO (Thursday), but did not get results until 16 DPO (Monday -- at this point my period was 3 days late). Came back at 16. Also had an HCG test that morning at Fertility doc's office and got results back same day later in the afternoon --- came back at 9 and was told it was a chemical pregnancy in light of declining numbers. Did not have any bleeding until I was 6 days late for my period, but at least was expecting it in light of delining HCG's. So, for me at least, if I were not getting HCG's measured, I would have assumed I was pregnant AND missed my period for almost a week (I am ALWAYS 28 days -- never late). I say this because of all the comments that indicate a chemical resolves itself so quickly that "most people do not know they are pregnant." Not at all my case, which also means it felt very much like a miscarriage and I was very sad, so just some advice to those out there who have friends experiencing this -- be very sensitive because it is a hard thing to go through. We are going to try again this month and see what happens -- last month was our first month trying so we thought we were very blessed to get pregnant so fast. I am 38, taking a half dosage of Clomid each night, but no trigger shot or IUI (just monitored sonos and timed intercourse). Have a 19 month old baby girl that we conceived after 6-7 months of trying just through sonos and timed intercourse (no Clomid). Best wishes to all of you that you get that baby God has in mind especially for you. It WILL happen and when it does, all of this anticipation and fear and worry and disappointment will be so worth it. You will look at that baby and think "I wouldn't have things any other way -- YOU are exactly who God meant for me and I love you more than I ever thought possible." I still think that every day when I look at my sweet baby girl.
