Same experience, except people-watching in both suburban mall and downtown restaurant.  Of the 20-something and under crowd, I'd also say about 1/3 were in boots over jean/leggings/some casual-ish pant. Some looked stylish, some just practical.

Also, definitely think that when it gets actually cold around here, no one wants cropped/ankle pants and bootie. It doesn't say fashion, it just screams fashion victim.[/quote]
