I feel like you, OP, but I’m still voting for Democrats. I’m uncomfortable with the rabid pro-choicers for sure, and kind of agnostic on illegal immigration. But for me, there’s one party that is ok with cutting taxes for the EXTREMELY wealthy while keeping taxes the same for everyone else, cutting all government services and public education, doesn’t see mass shootings as a crisis, and wants to keep people from voting through shady tactics, and one party that doesn’t want to do those things. So I know what party I’m voting for even if they don’t represent me 100% of the time.
I’m a PP and I also will continue to vote for Dems over GOP, but...not everyone will. And I will certainly speak out against the move to the left. We should remember that people vote with their pocketbooks.
I’m not so sure that “people vote with their pocketbooks” is true anymore. If that was true, you’d see a lot of low income people voting for Democrats because they are the ones who want to expand Medicare through the ACA and give more government services generally. Instead a lot of lower income people vote Republican which tends to make their financial situations the same, if not worse.
