Sheesh. But tell me again how you look at a large field of qualified candidates and think no, trump's my guy? I mean, he's your guy if you need to shake down someone or get your buddy Rick Perry to score you some big contracts but come on...
I’m not the OP, but I am voting for Trump.
I don’t look at it and think ‘he’s my guy’. I do think that I am voting based on what matters to me. And, currently, Trump has my vote.
So you are a billionaire or racist? Those are the people who benefit from his plans.
A billionaire? Don't I wish. Not in a million years. My HHI is under $140K and we live in Silver Spring, MD. My kids go to a high FARMS/high ESOL school. So, I see on a daily basis how illegal immigration affects my life and I'm voting based on that.
Oh you are that poster. My kids go to a school with FARMS and english as second learners. I don't know their immigration status, and further more I have no idea how you would know anyone's immigration status. You make a lot of generalizing claims on multiple threads about how you know so many illegal immigrants and they aren't here to escape from anything but are instead here for jobs.
It is tiresome and transparent.

Have voted Democrat in ALL the last presidential elections.
Agree that the Democrats have gone so far off the rails, and that I absolutely do not feel that they care about or want my vote.
I am actually going to be voting for Trump in the next election. I don’t like him as a person, but I can say that about many people I work with.
It is what it is.
Pick what issues matter most to you and vote based on those. Agree that you will not align completely with any candidate.
Such a predictable script.

You are entirely missing the point. You’re talking about Democrats who hate Trump, lol, but neither do they identify with the left. It’s called the “middle” and it’s where most of America belongs.

Not sure what you mean by ‘that poster’. I can guarantee you that I am not the only anti-illegal immigration poster on DCUM. And definitely not in Silver Spring. Come to our neighborhood and you will hear first-hand the frustration that many middle-class residents of MoCo feel about the Democratic leadership in the county. There are plenty of us, of various races and backgrounds.
And generalizing claims? There are lots of those in this thread from people yelling troll.
DP. Are you the teacher who post frequently on here?

I don't identify with LGBQT issues. I want my neighborhood to be safe and homeless free (I live in California). I want the government to prosecute drug crimes, which us Democrats have moved away from. I have three young kids and I really care about the quality of public schools. I want high achieving classical school curriculums, and programs that help struggling students.
The issue I care most about is the environment and I'm annoyed that it takes the back burner. I have no problem paying taxes because we must fund our good schools and police and other services....however DO NOT MAKE MINE HIGHER, please, i am begging.

Lol, no. I don't believe you. There is literally no person like this. Try again.
Actually FEWER people support Trump now than ever. And certainly no democrat who voted for Hillary is going to vote for Trump now.
Nice try. HA HA HA HA HA HA
Well, you have now met one. DH is still on the fence, but is considering voting for Trump. Or possibly 3rd party. He also voted for Hillary last time and watching the debates realized that he can’t vote for many of the potential Democratic candidates.

It’s okay. You don’t have to believe me. Honestly, my vote for Trump means nothing anyway because he has zero chance in crazy liberal MoCo.
I am voting based on the economy and on immigration. The economy is doing well and I want someone who is going to take a hard line on immigration.
I am pro-choice, but not strongly enough that it will influence my vote.

Why? You do that to your own detriment. Come on, guys. Get real. I’m 100% certain OP is legit because I know a lot of people just like OP.
Yep.
I think some posters need to get out of their liberal bubble and see that there are people who think differently than they do.
I don't disagree with the existence of the liberal bubble, but you have to be a giant dummy not to see that the current perception of the Democratic party as being "too far left" is being driven by GOP propaganda, and not the actual messaging. If you are getting your news from Fox and believe that all the Democratic candidates are for immediate abolition of the border and don't care about the coming brown menace ... well then, I don't think the problem is the liberal bubble.
Wow, dude, we are talking about Democrats who don’t identify anymore! We watch MSNBC and read the New York Times and the Economist and listen to NPR! I’m telling this to you because some PP’s aren’t quite understanding... we’re not talking about Republicans or Fox News watchers.
what do you concretely not identify with? 10/10 that it's actually a right-wing caricature. That's not to say there are not extremists on the left - of course there are - but that's always been the case. If you can't distinguish between the party mainstreams and extremists who have little influence, I don't know what to tell you.

Another person missing the point. This is a thread about Democrats not identifying with current Dem candidates & their ideology. Many many Democrats would be in this category. This is not a thread about Democrats who like Trump. Every democrat I know hates Trump, but that doesn’t mean they like Bernie Sanders/AOC platform either.
This is me. I don't like Trump, but I REALLY don't like the Sanders/AOC/Harris platform at all. Ten hour school days from Kamala Harris? No thanks.
Interestingly, many of my Jewish/Israeli friends who always tended to vote Democratic are re-thinking their position in the Democratic party. Can you blame them?
We older Democrats who voted for Hillary see the Rolling Stone cover with Pelosi and Omar and AOC. That lets people know, loud and clear, where the Democratic party wants to go, and who it wants to leave behind.
That was having aftercare at schools. Pay attention.

Do you even hear yourself? Do you hear how much you sound like the Taliban? Or fundamentalist Christians?
No thanks. I'll keep my 'amoral' vote for Trump.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I feel like you, OP, but I’m still voting for Democrats. I’m uncomfortable with the rabid pro-choicers for sure, and kind of agnostic on illegal immigration. But for me, there’s one party that is ok with cutting taxes for the EXTREMELY wealthy while keeping taxes the same for everyone else, cutting all government services and public education, doesn’t see mass shootings as a crisis, and wants to keep people from voting through shady tactics, and one party that doesn’t want to do those things. So I know what party I’m voting for even if they don’t represent me 100% of the time.
I’m a PP and I also will continue to vote for Dems over GOP, but...not everyone will. And I will certainly speak out against the move to the left. We should remember that people vote with their pocketbooks.
