NP Sorry, but the teachers don't even work a full 8 hours a day and have multiple hours within that, to work on lesson plans and grade. No other job gives days off to catch up on work. I am glad they finally got rid of the full days off (when the parking lots were empty anyway) but the half days need to go too. Like the PP said above, they have multiple 4 day weeks in the beginning of the year too.
1. You're not sorry. 2. This argument is so overdone and has been disproven so many times. Have you been a public school teacher? If not, you have no idea what kind, or what amount, of "unseen" work teaching requires. You're not in a position to measure how much is enough. This year, September has two holidays, which are paid holidays. Are you advocating that teachers should work on holidays that are supposed to be days off?
How has it been disproven?
