EXIM Bank Finance, banking, world travel, decisions affecting people’s lives.
GOP is actively trying to destroy Ex-Im. Morale is terrible and everyone I know who worked there has fled.
Is it still prestigious though? Have things changed recently? They have been posting a lot of open positions lately, been thinking of applying.
People are fleeing in droves....what do you think? Basically, there is no work to do because stuff isn't funded. You sit in your seat for 8 hours and collect a paycheck. That's it. For anyone with half a brain and aspirations to ACTUALLY DO WORK FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, it's a very bad place to be right now. That said, Ex-Im will take on much greater importance if Democrats win in 2020. You could position yourself now as "toughing it out" and probably get promoted. Also, it's a good place to be if you want to learn financial modeling.
There is a new board that can finally approve large deals, new inspirational chair, and new trainings, etc. We are recovering and therefore hiring. Try and see if you like what you hear at your interview.
