No, idiot, it is not a "gross assumption."  I've lived in several of those countries, and yes, the majority of women in the societies from which the US receives the most refugees ARE uneducated and with very little rights.  I am embarrassed for you, but I also doubt there is any hope for you to really understand how the greater world works at this point.  God.  Just take your privilege and idiocy and go get a manicure or something, OP.  You should probably keep your mouth shut on topics you don't understand in the future to avoid embarrassing yourself further.  [/quote]

New poster here and OP's question is anything but dumb.  It's actually incredibly complex and interesting. 
I work entirely with the Medicaid population in DC and to call this question "dumb" is fairly insulting to the poor.   
It's actually pretty darn interesting and complex to understand why people without resources and/or in crisis do what they do in terms of having children 
and a million other decisions that may not be in their best interest.  [/quote]

poor people want to be loved and they think having a baby will add love to their lives.  They are too dumb/simple to think about facts like I can barely take care of myself how am I going to take care of myself and a baby.[/quote]
