SR Coach was very aggressive with refs - at one point loudly calling attention to a Visi offsides.  That one didn’t bother me so much because Visi was, in fact, offsides but it was handled strangely.  I am sure Visi was doubly irritated because calls seemed to go SR way from then on.

The most noticeable incident was a Visi parent was heckling/objecting to (depending on who you were rooting for) the SR Coach over those type of aggressive antics - she was pacing and yelling up and down the sideline - and said something to the effect of “you are no Cathy.”  This was said across the field, so very loudly.  I wasn’t sure what that meant.  Maybe a reference to Cathy Reese?  Anyway, the SR coach roared back “That’s right. I’m Kristen McDaniels.”  It felt a little like she lost it.  Wouldn’t want my kids viewing that from a coach/role model.

Visi fans probably have many more examples of egregious SR coaching and SR parents will tell you she was within her rights, trying to draw attention to penalties committed over and over by Visi.  An aside, SR had way more student fans at away game who showed great team spirit (and the girls were well behaved from what i saw).

Bottom line: Neither school totally behaved the way I would have wanted to see.  It is high school lacrosse, not life or death. I prefer old-school, quiet intensity so both teams turned me off, quite frankly.[/quote]
