And his team just lost to Sidwell in the DC championship, after Sidwell beat St. John's in the semis.  :shock:

You know what they say about hard work beating talent when talent doesn't work hard? Well last night's game was a textbook example of that.

I don't know what Hernandez is like off the court as a mentor, but that was a poorly coached and undisciplined basketball team that played last night. The twins had 10 points combined, and only 6 shots combined. They should have worked the ball inside, Sidwell would not have been able to defend it with #30 (Stanford football OT commit) as their only guy who came close to matching the twins in size and not close to them in athleticism or basketball quickness. And then free up #1 and #5 on the perimeter/drives.

#1 is a talented kid but he would be helped immensely by better coaching that demands he dial back the attitude a bit. Hard to see that he is getting that from Hernandez, who was close to out of control on the sidelines himself, and busy arguing with the refs during most timeouts while his assistants huddled with the team.[/quote]
