Nova 94 . . . DS was excited to make one of the B teams but now we find out that several of the other kids are too old for the age group, so the team isn't playing AAU but something else I've never heard of. Why do people lie? He actually wanted to be on the C team b/c the coach was younger.

you can try nova 94. they start fielding teams at age of 8 whereas other AAU organization start at 9. it is very competitive though and hard to get in.

or little legends, another rec league but a good one to start with.

You know what they say about hard work beating talent when talent doesn't work hard? Well last night's game was a textbook example of that.

I don't know what Hernandez is like off the court as a mentor, but that was a poorly coached and undisciplined basketball team that played last night. The twins had 10 points combined, and only 6 shots combined. They should have worked the ball inside, Sidwell would not have been able to defend it with #30 (Stanford football OT commit) as their only guy who came close to matching the twins in size and not close to them in athleticism or basketball quickness. And then free up #1 and #5 on the perimeter/drives.

#1 is a talented kid but he would be helped immensely by better coaching that demands he dial back the attitude a bit. Hard to see that he is getting that from Hernandez, who was close to out of control on the sidelines himself, and busy arguing with the refs during most timeouts while his assistants huddled with the team.

My D1 prospect son just had his first offseason workout with Coach DeVoe. Trainer in Virginia. I am a former collegiate athlete myself, heard about this dude through a rumor. DeVoe is the best all around trainer I’ve seen anywhere, hands down. You have never heard of him but if you want to know where many of these Virginia based D1 and Pro guys are learning to shoot, find him.

Yeah, agree with sharing playing time if they had stayed. I know they are getting more attention like from the WaPo, but I really wonder if transferring hurt them because so many of their games are not competitive -- watching Wilson play DCIAA games hasn't really been much fun this year since they don't really need to play hard to win and they don't really need to play much defense.

I stand corrected. They atleast have 5 of the top 12 players in Florida. And that isn’t even counting Jaxon Williams.

It’s good they already committed. But they would have had to share some of that playing time and the team sure wouldn’t of been centered around the two of them at Montverde.

Montverde currently has ONE kid who is top 10 nationally (Cade Cunningham class of 2020).

Makhi was #25 in the country while at Montverde --- he WAS a star and playing time wasn't an issue. Coming to Wilson hasn't helped his ranking -- he's now #67. Makhel is ranked 160 and was previously ranked as highly as 67th in the country -- also a star by any standard.

You seem confused about star classifications and national rankings. Being a 5 star recruit is not anywhere close to being the same thing as being nationally ranked -- currently only the top 27 kids in the class of 2019 are 5 star recruits (and Makhi WAS a 5 star while at Montverde). Both were and still are nationally ranked (as are two other Wilson kids -- one #295 and one #95).

Well they went to the Montverde from the WCAC. Montverde is full of 5 stars basketball players. They have two 6’9”, one 7’, and one 6’10” on their roster which are all ranked as top ten players in the country.

So those two 6’9 big men who aren’t 5 stars or nationally ranked certainly wouldn’t have gotten the same attention at Montverde that they are at Wilson.
