Hey all ... my daughter has played with FCV for many years. Some of what is said here is true, some of it is embellishment/exaggeration, and some is made up out of what I would call hate for the FCV brand (everyone is entitled to their opinion, trolly or not) Yes, there was a disagreement between two specific parents that resulted in F-bombs and personal attacks that the rest of the team were mortified by. This is still being addressed. The personal attacks and generalizations at the rest of the team by folks in this thread are no better than the accusations by the way. I have yet to see a perfect set of sideline parents with ANY team, and I’ve been around the regional scene for a decade now (and know many of the coaches/mgrs in VA and MD) Yes, the FCV DA 05 group got their butts kicked first game. No, the argument had nothing to do with that game. The group is strong enough and mature enough to recognize they were schooled. Sometimes, getting your butt kicked is exactly the lesson that is needed to get better. The real question is, how do the FCV DA 05 group respond? No, there was no brawl, just a verbal argument, albeit enthusiastically dramatic (think I’ll coin that) with a touch of chest-thumping The coaching comments are generally true anywhere you go. Whether people like it or not, the top team is always going to get the highest level of coaching. Theres only so much of the resource to go around. Show me an organization where this doesn’t happen, and I’ll show you an organization that has trouble attracting top talent Its a shame that all of this BS has to go down with regards to competitive sports (this thread and the comments included), but it’s a predictable outcome with the competitive, A-type personalities involved at every level of the industry Hope this gives some perspective.
You’re correct that the argument didn’t happen after the huge 7-0 loss on Saturday, it was after the 2-0 loss on Sunday. It was definitely an embarrassment for the club that 2 fathers would get into a physical and verbal altercation about how awful the others 13 year old daughter is. They had to be physically separated by other parents. Certainly doesn’t combat the “rumors” about the parents at FCV.
