How very opportunistic of you.
By all means though, players should look at Loudoun ECNL, BRYC ECNL, Arlington DA, and McLean ECNL as well, depending on the logistics each family is willing to settle for.
We left FCV and I can tell you I haven't 'settled' for anything. I'm not raising a soccer player, I'm raising a woman - someone who is kind, strong and has self-respect. A fight at a soccer game is not my crowd.
Give it a rest.

Anonymous wrote:Hey all ... my daughter has played with FCV for many years. Some of what is said here is true, some of it is embellishment/exaggeration, and some is made up out of what I would call hate for the FCV brand (everyone is entitled to their opinion, trolly or not)
Yes, there was a disagreement between two specific parents that resulted in F-bombs and personal attacks that the rest of the team were mortified by. This is still being addressed.
The personal attacks and generalizations at the rest of the team by folks in this thread are no better than the accusations by the way. I have yet to see a perfect set of sideline parents with ANY team, and I’ve been around the regional scene for a decade now (and know many of the coaches/mgrs in VA and MD)
Yes, the FCV DA 05 group got their butts kicked first game.
No, the argument had nothing to do with that game. The group is strong enough and mature enough to recognize they were schooled. Sometimes, getting your butt kicked is exactly the lesson that is needed to get better. The real question is, how do the FCV DA 05 group respond?
No, there was no brawl, just a verbal argument, albeit enthusiastically dramatic (think I’ll coin that) with a touch of chest-thumping
The coaching comments are generally true anywhere you go. Whether people like it or not, the top team is always going to get the highest level of coaching. Theres only so much of the resource to go around. Show me an organization where this doesn’t happen, and I’ll show you an organization that has trouble attracting top talent
Its a shame that all of this BS has to go down with regards to competitive sports (this thread and the comments included), but it’s a predictable outcome with the competitive, A-type personalities involved at every level of the industry
Hope this gives some perspective.

They also are very willing to take money from parents who have kids that should not be playing travel soccer, and to swap out professional coaches for parent volunteers. Bordering on a fraudulent business practice. Their administration is also poor, bordering on comical.
Unless your daughter is good enough to play DA, or you just want her to play travel soccer, you live near Bles or Evergreen, and $2-3K a year is pocket change for you, I’d recommend staying away from FCV.
Interesting that an FCV DA thread was chosen to bask the non-DA parts of FCV. Not saying that you are right or wrong, but I comes across as silly to post this on this thread especially when you added in your message that FCV has the best DA teams in NOVA. I clicked because I thought I was going to read something that was relevant to the thread. But I was mistaken.
Yes, I did not explain fully. First of all - it is all the same club, so it is relevant. If you don't understand this, then you're naïve. FCV, currently, has the best (girls) DA teams in NOVA because they have the best players. They did this by combining with Loudoun last year for the DA program, then separating and taking many of the Loudoun players with them (yes, I know this also says something about Loudoun Soccer that many players left, but it also the allure of DA over ECNL). The way the club is being run however at the lower levels, with only focus on the DA teams will result in their talent drying out soon. Add to this the decision of WSVA to stay in the DA game, and WS pros taking Richie Burke from FCV and having FCV's owner (Christian C.) play an assistant role with WS pros, and crazy parents cussing each other out, it is only time until this program implodes or is gobbled up by another program. Maybe I will be wrong. We'll see. Again, I would NOT have my daughter at the younger ages (06 and younger) join this club, be it DA or other. Look to one of the other ECNL clubs in NOVA or WSVA DA.

This is a strange take.
First, older NPL teams at FCV are weak because there are many talented kids in the club who do not make the DA team for whatever reason. Just because they didn’t make FCV’s DA does not mean they shouldn’t play on another DA or ECNL team. And so they leave.
Second, I don’t understand the connection with Christian and Richie coaching the pro team means anything regarding FCV. I can’t think of a more temporary job than NWSL coach.

Anonymous wrote:Its true. This is the worst, but not the first time this group has gotten into it on the sidelines. In the past its been vs the other team. This time the parents created a huge scene because they were yelling and cursing at each another blaming each other’s kids. They were yelling ‘f*** you. Your kid sucks and that’s why we lost’ ‘your kid won’t even make the team next year’ and other curse words. They went back and forth for 10 minutes and other parents from their team had to pull them away. This was on the sideline a few minutes after the game ended. That's why some of these teams are so toxic. This is what they hear at home so that's how they treat their 'teammates".... I mean the other girls who are also on the team.
