FCV is not the best club around. It has the best girls DA teams in NOVA, but the other teams (the non-DA teams at FCV) are typically not that good, with a few exceptions. They put their top coaching efforts into the DA teams almost exclusively. They also are very willing to take money from parents who have kids that should not be playing travel soccer, and to swap out professional coaches for parent volunteers. Bordering on a fraudulent business practice. Their administration is also poor, bordering on comical. Unless your daughter is good enough to play DA, or you just want her to play travel soccer, you live near Bles or Evergreen, and $2-3K a year is pocket change for you, I’d recommend staying away from FCV.
Interesting that an FCV DA thread was chosen to bask the non-DA parts of FCV. Not saying that you are right or wrong, but I comes across as silly to post this on this thread especially when you added in your message that FCV has the best DA teams in NOVA. I clicked because I thought I was going to read something that was relevant to the thread. But I was mistaken.
Yes, I did not explain fully. First of all - it is all the same club, so it is relevant. If you don't understand this, then you're naïve. FCV, currently, has the best (girls) DA teams in NOVA because they have the best players. They did this by combining with Loudoun last year for the DA program, then separating and taking many of the Loudoun players with them (yes, I know this also says something about Loudoun Soccer that many players left, but it also the allure of DA over ECNL). The way the club is being run however at the lower levels, with only focus on the DA teams will result in their talent drying out soon. Add to this the decision of WSVA to stay in the DA game, and WS pros taking Richie Burke from FCV and having FCV's owner (Christian C.) play an assistant role with WS pros, and crazy parents cussing each other out, it is only time until this program implodes or is gobbled up by another program. Maybe I will be wrong. We'll see. Again, I would NOT have my daughter at the younger ages (06 and younger) join this club, be it DA or other. Look to one of the other ECNL clubs in NOVA or WSVA DA.
