I am 38 and no one I know my age has a pension unless they hit the jackpot or were career military. I missed the pension benefit for my company by a year. Pensions mean you will be able to retire. By the time I am of retirement age I will have a measly 401k (which has been acknowledged is not enough) and no social security. So yes you are out of touch or a troll. Be grateful for what you have![/quote]
Ok, maybe it’s different in Canada but DH works for a bank and has a pension too.

But has this person ever even lived in DC? It is just odd that some random Canadian from some place in Canada just happens to hang out on a DC board. Do they own property in the DMV area? Are they from the DMV area? Also super odd that they are bragging about a pension. We don't really have those here in the US so why should we care? This person has to either be a troll or is a super sad person with no friends that they are on this site with no DC ties.[/quote]
