This whole incident is frivolous. People need to chill out!!!
If the email from Janney administration is about a counselor getting kicked... I think the school probably should have just done a minor incident report and moved forward. Ive seen kids kicking and screaming a lot at the Janney so I cant really imagine why they would send an email about this specific incident.
Well the parents of the child involved believe that something very different happened and have suggested there is physical evidence to support their claim. The parents version strikes me as a lot less likely than the alternative but I wasn't there and appreciate the school investigating what happened. And what happened was apparently in a room full of people, including other adults.
This. As a Janney parent, I cannot understand why most of the Janney parents on this thread are not disturbed by this incident. They are acting like this happens everyday. Well it doesn't.
What, as a Janney parent (of whom I am one), is there to be disturbed about? Based on some emails that have been circulating I think I've heard the two different versions of what happened. The version implicating the staffer strikes me as an almost improbable story. The version implicating the child on the other hand strikes me as being completely believable. But the truth could be either version or somewhere in between and I wasn't there. The school removed the staffer from this position and is investigating. I am not disturbed about this and am not even anxiously awaiting the results since I can't think of what to be anxious about - and the apparent staffer (I've still not seen anything explicitly naming the person) is someone our child dealt with every day.
I am not disturbed either. The email I saw from the parents was highly suggestive and vague at the same time as to their child’s behavior. Like a previous poster mentioned, it also seems highly improbable to me that what they are alleging happened the way they insinuate it did. Given that other adults and children witnessed the incident, I have confidence that the school will be able to handle this appropriately and get to the truth. I wasn’t there so either version could be true but for the time being I’m not worried about my child’s safety at Janney.
