I actually am beautiful but my mom used to tell me as a child that I wasn’t. She explained to me later that she didn’t want me to focus on looks but on smarts. And she didn’t want me to have a big ego. This resulted me in being smart, though nerdy, and have low self esteem growing up that took me awhile to work through.
