They give C’s and D’s to kids that don’t care. Not 4yr college bound kids. It takes minimum effort to pull a low B.  Teachers grades are so tough in the A and high B but they rarely give C-F. My DD has a friend that turns in everything assignment and project late. Misses HW too. Writing assignments are ripped apart but still gets an 80-85. And of course she makes honor roll every single quarter.

Our FCPS IB school gives out plenty of Cs. My full IB diploma student who works her butt off has two right now. I would venture to say that in our school, the As are much more rare than the Cs. And failure to turn things in results in Ds and Fs. [/quote]
