It's not some pre-planned trip with tickets and traveling expenses already in the works. That said, I would just tell my DH to go to his stupid game. If he can't see why I would want him around to help man a house full of tween/teen boys then he's just going to be dead weight if he ends up staying. If wife is the only one putting in the effort for planning the party and reaching out to the kids and kids' parents then the dh shouldn't complain that the date doesn't work for him. [/quote]
