The two times they hit me, my car was damaged beyond value ("totaled", because it was a crappy older car and not worth anything) and I used my PIP insurance to run up the bills for physical therapy. I wasn't hurt, but I wanted to run the bill up, because in Maryland, the typical settlement for an at-fault accident is about 3x the medical

So for one crash I got $36,000 and the other I got $22,000, minus 34% to my attorney. So I made out ok.

I have a nice car now, so I probably won't do it now, but if I'm ever driving a beater again, I'll do it if I'm provoked. [/quote]
