The whole teacher victim thing is way overdone. The pay is good for the hours worked and most teachers choose the profession partly for this reason. There's been a major change in attitude since I was in school and many teachers now won't lift a finger beyond what's absolutely required. They end up in poor schools as principals in better schools don't put up with these attitudes and will make sure the slackers get transferred. If you want a good teaching position in a good school you have to put out the effort. The poor schools end up shortchanged with weak teaching staff made even weaker by unruly students, overwhelmed parents and no volunteers.[/quote]
