I truly don't get how bikinis are more comfortable than a one piece.
Very puzzled by this as well. Don't get at all.
I'm the PP above who surfs/swims. One-pieces are far more uncomfortable for me. I have a long torso and most one-pieces leave me with shoulder marks after awhile because they pull down. You get sweaty under-boob (ugh). Because one-pieces never quite fit length-wise, I have to worry about wardrobe malfunction on the butt (the bottom rolls inward so I end up with a nasty wedgie). There's the sand issue for surfing above (and by the way, I almost never see a woman surfing in a one-piece when I surf, for the reasons I mentioned. It's just plain uncomfortable.). Day-long swim/surf sessions are intolerable because of the sand issues -- once you get sand in a one-piece, it's not coming out until you change. When I get out, I hate the feeling of dampness on my belly that comes with a one-piece. Going to the bathroom is annoying in a one-piece. I could go on and on and on. I didn't wear bikinis until I was in my 30s (too shy) but I will never go back now. Wish I hadn't struggled with one-pieces all those years! What a pain they are in comparison.
