[quote=Anonymous NP here and I would be embarrassed to harass a mom alone with 2 kids (including a baby) while her DH is overseas and demand that she drive 2 hours to return a bathing suit at 10 at night when I could easily pick up a new one the next day. That is the very definition of a self-centered jerk.
Maybe the other woman has twin toddlers and her husband is out until 10 pm. Putting one baby and one ten-year-old in the car to make things right when it's your kid's mistake doesn't seem like too much trouble, and, besides, it sets a good example for the kid.
The mistake was noticed hours earlier. The exchange was not immediate but the mom wanted it hours later. She wanted to finish packing and have care for her kids. Its ok OP dragged her kids out but not the mom. Mom could have easily gone to target or walmart and replaced it. OP return the suit on monday. problem solved.
