Because I’m a Democrat - a real one, not a MoDeRaTe - and I’m the one who has twice posted “Nader, Nader, Sanders/Stein.” You know why? Because I understand that a spoiler doesn’t need to be huge in order to destroy progress. Too many people are way too stupid and will vote for Literally Any Corpse (R). No Labels has been around for a while.  It looks to consist of a mix of disaffected DLC Democrats who have banded together with some Never Trumpers more recently. [b] If you do not like the billionaires you assert without evidence are funding No Labels, [/b]then work at the grass roots level to find another candidate to replace Biden at the top of the ticket.  The No Labels folks have agreed to go away if that happens.  [/quote]

Thanks. Crow donating a whopping $130,000 which is nothing by billionaire standards in either major political party. Plus, Crow, notwithstanding that he is apparently personal friends with a Supreme Court Justice appointed by a Republican, has made it clear that he is looking for a third party candidate not to reelect Trump:

I have the list of donors and I've met with Nancy Jacobson. There are SEVERAL Trump donors on the list. Not just Crow. You cannot convince me that they would donate for any reason other than to get Trump elected. If it was just Crow, I would believe the story, but it isn't.[/quote]

Yes, of course this is possible. The fact that No labels has no candidate in the race at this point makes all of this conversation completely speculative. If No Labels put forth a well known candidate that has appeal to both moderate R & D voters, they'd have a chance to build momentum quickly but time is running out for that if it hasn't already. The bottom line- a majority of both R and D voters would like an alternative to Trump and Biden more so than in any election in modern history so the opportunity for a successful 3rd party candidate is in place more so than ever before. Without an announced candidate in place, we can only speculate on the intent of No Labels donors and whether or not their potential candidate would pull more votes from Trump or Biden.[/quote]

No way to know how a strong 3rd party candidate would influence the race until there actually is a strong 3rd party candidate. I mostly agree with you, except it’s a myth that Perot won the election for Clinton. Perot had 20% of the vote which was split equally between people who would have voted for Bush and people who would have voted for Clinton had he not been on the ballot. It’s actually a myth, started by Republicans who couldn’t believe they lost after twelve years, to blame the victory Clinton would have had without Perot on Perot.[/quote]

Nope.  My parents campaigned for Perot.  The overwhelming majority of people they peeled off for Perot were Republicans.[/quote]
