Maybe that was just in older age groups, and they've managed to do something else for younger groups? I understand the reluctance to play -- some of the teams in that tournament are pretty deft with elbows, forearms and kicks, and the refs do absolutely nothing to stop it. It's true in the FPYC tournament, too -- I coached a team that was playing well early in a game and was tied 2-2 until they (NVSC, a repeat offender) just fouled the crap out of our best player and a few others, leaving me with a bunch of guys with ice packs on the sideline. I don't know what that was, but it sure as hell wasn't soccer.[/quote]
