Sex shame. Thank you. I’ve been feeling some sort of way about all of the mentions of Jen not “putting out” for Brandon (such a sexist phrase, btw). You have named what I couldn’t put my finger on. I agree with you, how do these people really even know what happened in J/B’s bedroom??? Why does Brandon get a free pass for utter debauchery and Jen is repeatedly held accountable for perceived lack of sexual intimacy? As a former evangelical Christian, I find the sexual shaming and pro-Brandon comments to be triggering. The patriarchal brainwashing has certainly worked on so many of these women. Shitty husbands don’t “deserve” sex. It’s not a duty. It’s the product of a healthy relationship, and not the other way around. [/quote]
