This is so upsetting, but I also agree with you after my recent interactions with SB members including Nancy Van Doren. Also, Murphy spoke on a panel with Barbara Kanninen last week about the future of high school education and was again pushing his idea for internships and flex scheduling in lieu of traditional high school classes. Everyone at APS seems to now be singing from the same hymnal about the "future" of high school education not being in the classroom. It gives them an easy out to not have to build an additional high school.  I'm skeptical that the business community is going to be able to pony up enough meaningful internships though-- it seems like APS is making a pretty big assumption here without talking to any of the companies who will need to create said internships. And they seem to be forgetting that we have a number of top colleges and universities across the river with undergrad and graduate students who are also willing to work for free and may actually have some subject expertise.
