Except they actually aren’t that expensive. Ground beef is maybe $5 per pound on average. A dozen eggs are conservatively $4 a dozen. Butter is cheap. A pound of ground beef, 4 eggs, 4 tablespoons of butter gets you 1700 “calories” (which are a stupid measure of energy) per day at a daily cost of under $7.50 per day, which is $225 per person ina. 30-day month.[/quote]
