A pound of ground beef, 4 eggs, 4 tablespoons of butter gets you 1700 “calories” (which are a stupid measure of energy) per day at a daily cost of under $7.50 per day, which is $225 per person ina. 30-day month.

So, for a family of four that is $10,800 per year. However, 22% of U.S. families earn less than that annually.
