When my youngest graduate high school next year, the ranking will be substantially lower. Want to know why? Wrong thread, Gramps. Its exactly the right thread as an explanation for why no one wants these people dumped in their towns.
Don't worry about your youngest. There are AAP programs, AP courses, IB programs, etc. Your precious child is getting just as good of an education as was available in the 90's. Maybe even better. Yes, the rankings are not as high, but that does not affect your sweet child. The rankings are bunk because second language learning does not mean low IQ. It means the kid needs to learn English before he/she can take the tests, but the federal and state mandates for testing make them take the tests before they can understand them. The rankings mean nothing. Nada. I am totally fine with the blue areas getting the benefits of immigrants. The benefits far outweigh. The public schools did a great job with immigrants years back (1920's had a huge wave) and we continue to do well educating them today. They work hard and will continue to bring incredible benefits to our economy. Look at who is building our homes, paving our roads, driving our trucks, cooking in our restaurants, cleaning our offices, picking our produce, and on and on. And Trump is not going to bus illegals to blue areas. If they are illegal, they will be sent back at the border (as happens every day). The people being sent may be asking for asylum. Those people are not "illegal". They are allowed to stay here pending their court dates. The fact that he doesn't put more judges on the border is interesting. I can only surmise that these people benefit us (which they do). I'm fine with more coming to my blue area. We are very good at dealing with immigrants. The red areas freak out I guess. I don't understand the people who say the blue areas don't want them. I work with them every single day and live next to them. No big deal.
Great! Your address, please?
