The people on the streets begging are NOT the immigrants. The immigrants are the ones working and contributing. Yes, the people on the streets are a problem. But will they go out and work like the immigrants? Somebody has to work. We are not getting our garbage picked up and cleaning done because they cannot find employees. Seriously.
so . . . You seriously think that all of those entering our country will be working - ON THE BOOKS?
We have people picking up trash and building houses and cleaning offices and working in restaurants and and and . . .
Let's bring in more issues even though we CAN'T solve the ones that already exist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Clearly you have NO compassion for the many sick and mentally ill folks living in tents around the country.
You are despicable.

You do realize that sanctuary cities are by and large cities where immigrants - both legal and illegal - ALREADY live. They are already here. And many of our communities are rallying to make it possible for them to live their fullest lives and become contributors to our regions. It's not a punishment - it's the American way.
Exactly - it’s NOT a punishment. So why are Democrats so very outraged?? They should be tickled pink.
For the 100000th time...
It’s not that Dems think it’s a punishment, it’s that Trump and Miller sat down to think of a way to punish Dems for the ICE funding for beds. Trump thinks it’s a punishment he can inflict on Dems in retaliation for budget negotiations.
I think he should go ahead with his plan. If ICE doesn’t have the funds for the buses he should loan out his campaign buses and take full credit for his plan. It would certainly make him look like a compassionate guy.
Yes, we know - you've repeated your spiel for the 100000th time. The point you seem to be deliberately avoiding is: SO WHAT if Trump thought it would be a "punishment"? Many of you have repeatedly said it would *not* be a punishment to receive these immigrants. Though I question how many of you actually live in the targeted sanctuary cities - easy for you to say how much they'd be welcome if you're not even living there.
Finally, what's your explanation as to why Democrats refused funding for ICE beds? If beds are needed, why are they not being funded by the very people who insist these migrants are so welcome here?
Deflect, deflect.
Do you think Trump is acting like an a$$ or not?

What if he does? Your point?
Do you think he does?
Ah, yes - the poster who will only answer a question with a (pedantic, repetitive) question. Your many questions have been answered, and then some. Move on if you have nothing further to add.

POTUS planning punishment for citizens of the his own country is OK in your books?? Seriously???

When the biggest gay-loving liberal like Cher comes out in favor of putting citizens first, I don't care if Trump is acting like an ass or not. His statements are waking people up to the logistical issues facing the absorption of more illegal immigrants.

Most Libs think much of what Trump says is meaningless actually. I think it would take a lot more than this to turn them into MAGA anything. You have a lot of wishful thinking.
You must be joking. Clearly, they don't. Liberals obsess over every word and every tweet - hardly meaningless. If they felt he was "meaningless," they'd ignore him. Which, due to TDS, will never happen.

Who cares?? You just want to focus on his intent rather than the common sense behind it. Typical. Detract, detract, detract.

Cher does not speak for liberals as far as I know.
The Democrats responding to her tweet are right there with her, one after another. Lots of voices are hearing this as someone finally saying what they’re all thinking. Don’t take my word for it. It will keep happening as a result of Trump calling their bluff.

When my oldest (who is turning 30 this month) entered MoCo public schools in the 90's, their national ranking was in the top 10%. When my youngest graduate high school next year, the ranking will be substantially lower. Want to know why?
Wrong thread, Gramps.
Its exactly the right thread as an explanation for why no one wants these people dumped in their towns.
Don't worry about your youngest. There are AAP programs, AP courses, IB programs, etc. Your precious child is getting just as good of an education as was available in the 90's. Maybe even better. Yes, the rankings are not as high, but that does not affect your sweet child. The rankings are bunk because second language learning does not mean low IQ. It means the kid needs to learn English before he/she can take the tests, but the federal and state mandates for testing make them take the tests before they can understand them. The rankings mean nothing. Nada.
I am totally fine with the blue areas getting the benefits of immigrants. The benefits far outweigh. The public schools did a great job with immigrants years back (1920's had a huge wave) and we continue to do well educating them today. They work hard and will continue to bring incredible benefits to our economy. Look at who is building our homes, paving our roads, driving our trucks, cooking in our restaurants, cleaning our offices, picking our produce, and on and on. And Trump is not going to bus illegals to blue areas. If they are illegal, they will be sent back at the border (as happens every day). The people being sent may be asking for asylum. Those people are not "illegal". They are allowed to stay here pending their court dates. The fact that he doesn't put more judges on the border is interesting. I can only surmise that these people benefit us (which they do).
I'm fine with more coming to my blue area. We are very good at dealing with immigrants. The red areas freak out I guess. I don't understand the people who say the blue areas don't want them. I work with them every single day and live next to them. No big deal.
