The lack of rational discussion or problem solving over the last year and a half has been exhausting. But the problem is that I see as much if not more magical thinking among some teachers and administrators. I agree parents so often confuse the issues and misunderstand how public policy works. But some of the stuff I’ve heard from teachers and administrators (including Ferebee) this last year have really given me pause. Especially in DC. There are some ingrained belief systems among educators in this city that basically make common sense policy impossible in many areas. It’s exhausting.[/quote]
