More than 41,000 Federal Law Enforcement and Correctional Officers, Including:
2,614 ATF agents;
16,742 Bureau of Prisons correctional officers;
13,709 FBI agents;
3,600 deputy U.S. Marshals; and
4,399 DEA agents.

Up to 88% of Department of Homeland Security Employees, Including:
53,000 TSA Employees;
54,000 Customs and Border Protection agents and customs officers;
42,000 Coast Guard employees;
As many as 5,000 Forest Service Firefighters;
3,600 Weather Service Forecasters

More Than 380,000 Will Be Furloughed, Including:
86% of the Department of Commerce (Approximately 41,000 Staff);
96% of NASA (Approximately 16,700 Staff);
More than 80% of the National Park Service (Approximately 16,000 Staff);
At least 80% of the Forest Service (Approximately 28,800 Staff);

They're not working for no pay! The pay might be delayed for a week or so. Most Americans who have suffered REAL layoffs or job terminations can't relay relate. [/quote]

Your said people were being required to work without pay. That's illegal. They will get paid for time worked, albeit with a delay.

As far as those who are on leave with delayed pay, there's always a big woe-is-me that they won't be paid, and, without rare exemption, they are. In the meantime, Americans in private industry are  shaking their heads at this. People in the real world know what it means to lose jobs, get laid off, or have jobs abolished with NO warning. (Happened to me.....had a job as of 4 pm one day, and by COB I learned that was my last day. Along with about 15 others.)

Show me the legislation that authorized backpay for these workers, including the CBP workers protecting our borders and those Secret Service agents forced to work without pay to protect Trump. Or better yet mail them a check to compensate for the one they likely won’t be getting on 12/28. [/quote]
They'll get their pay, but it might be delayed a brief while. Go cry to people who really know what a furlough or layoff means....NO Pay. Period.[/quote]
