Those kids are learning the exact same lessons and no one is bending admissions criteria for them. Why not? If the reason to recruit athletes is because they (and only they) are learning these lessons, then your actual ability shouldn't matter. "hours, management, effort and focus" and your 'commitment' are all tied to participation, not skill.[/quote]
