The only way Youngkin has a chance this fall is if he makes huge gains in Fairfax / Loudon. The only way that happens is if schools are closed. This is a off year election and every Democrat in the country will be watching. The national party won’t let a couple of yahoo’s on the  school board blow this election by letting schools to close.

Sigh. I’m a Democrat, have been for 20 years. I voted for all the current school board members & Northam. I donated $2k to Biden / Harris last year and have donated regularly to Gerry Connolly, Megan McLaughlin, James Walkinshaw and Chap Peterson. I think Trump was the most destructive force in American political history and think his hard core followers are idiots and personally I wouldn’t care at all if most of them died from COVID.

I also enthusiastically signed the recall of Omeish, and will happily vote for and donate to Youngkin if schools aren’t open 5 days a week. I think Terry McAuliffe was a great Governor, but VA Dems and Fairfax Dems especially need a reality check. Being a Democrat means running government well, and the current FCPS school board couldn’t run a semi truck through a wet paper bag.

Youngkin isn’t some Trump disciple and if your actually believe that then you need to work on your critical thinking.

Hopefully the school board gets out of it’s own way, schools open, TMac moves back to Richmond and we can all move on, but it’s going to be a huge test over the next three months.
