Recognizing the rights of a sovereign state to conduct its own affairs (obviously the sovereignty is disputed in the show, but even IRL many governments have to hold their noses and deal with others guilty of human rights abuses). They do have a legal right to the child, in Gilead. The question is how must Canada navigate that, in the fictional world they exist in? Gilead could conceivably nuke them, and is helmed by crazy whackos.[/quote]
