Thanks for saying this.   I’ll follow up to see whether to really be concerned.  You might have just dissuaded me.  That position and some of the more radical BLM ideas are alienating.   Perhaps the Republicans will keep the Senate to counter some of the extreme proposals likely to surface if the Democrats have full control. [/quote]

You are turned off by economic equality? Why is that?

It was a key part of MLK’s crusade. His “I have a dream” speech was at the March on Washington [u]for Jobs[/u] and Freedom.

[i]One hundred years later (All right), the Negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. One hundred years later (My Lord) [applause], the Negro is still languished in the corners of American society and finds himself in exile in his own land. [/i]

Another quote from that day - still very fitting for today: 
[i]And those who hope that the Negro needed to blow off steam and will now be content will have a rude awakening if the nation returns to business as usual. [enthusiastic applause] There will be neither rest nor tranquility in America until the Negro is granted his citizenship rights. The whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges.[/i]

I think MLK would be disgusted with how little progress we’ve made.
