Our society has changed a lot. Women don't need men to have a fulfilling life. And they tell men every chance they get.
+1. What can a man offers a woman that she cannot have by herself if she is financially successful? Sex - easy (the younger she goes the easier) Child- easy (adoption, or sperm donor/ Money, - easy(more women graduating college and quickly climbing corporate ladder) Emotional support - other women (their friends) better suited for that Taking care of the home and a man-child - they can easily avoid that by not marrying and they will be much happier Longevity - I heard never married single women live longer So what do women need men?
So you won't become a lonely shrew on a message board.
A woman surrounded by her friends is not lonely.
How old are you? What married women are hanging out with girlfriends even one day, let alone seven days a week? Married mothers are too consumed with their husband, kids, then grandkids -- plus a career, if they have one. Girlie get togethers happen once or twice a year, if that.
Are you being purposely obtuse or just illiterate? Maybe read the thread so you understand the conversation that is happening.
Long threads have sub threads. A PP in this specific sub thread said a woman surrounded by friends is not lonely and thus doesn't need a husband. However, no such thing exists in real life past your late 20s or early 30s. Once you hit your late 20s and all your girlfriends are getting married, nobody is "surrounded by girlfriends" day in and day out ever again. Your girlfriends are consumed with their husbands, kids, and careers.
Still not sure if you're illiterate or obtuse. You can press "click to show earlier quotes" and it will reveal the conversation for you. -what do women need men for? (lists all the things women have w/o them, including friendship) -so you dont become a lonely shrew on a message board -women surrounded by friends arent lonely enter you, who went off on a weird tangent talking about "girlie get togethers" (vom), and being married. Irrelevant to the conversation. Have you never seen the golden girls? Sex and the city? The bold type? Grace and frankie? Firefly lane? Bad sisters? Broad city? There are multitudes of women past 20s and 30s who have friends. It's really bizarre you think friends drop off after 29. You need to reevaluate your friends I guess. And stop mansplaining womens friends to women. I mean, I know men dont tend to have as many friendships as women, but you are barking up the wrong tree here man.
