These people all have longstanding relationships with the kids. Frank is Kendall's godfather, Gerri has this long, weird relationship with Roman. Karl and Hugo and Karolina have known and worked with these kids for many years. Kerri is a total wild card to them, with no allegiances and virtually no history. It's why people were unhappy about the Kerri relationship when Logan was alive -- there are no alliances there and the fear was that she could convince him to clean house or something.

So yes, the kids are much more of a known quantity to Gerri/Frank/Karl. Doesn't mean they want them in the CEO's office, but it's something they have all been mentally prepared for and planned for. If Logan decided to install his mistress/assistant as interim CEO upon his death, that would terrify everyone -- not just the people who'd get pushed aside for her, but also all the investors and the board. That choice would be so insane that yes, they would MUCH rather have Kendall, Roman, or even Shiv running things.[/quote]
