This may be a cultural issue.  I don't mean black or white, I mean DC/Northeast/Mid-Atlantic and elsewhere, where colorful is not an insult and is tolerated or prized in a leader or politician.

Who's to say he punched back harder? She took a private moment and used it to ridicule the president, slinging mud for all the nation to see. He simply defended himself. (I know that flies in the face of liberal preferences, where you can sling mud and call names but conservatives have to STFU.)[/quote]
