I don’t hold animals superior or evenquote=Anonymous]
Also, what are we supposed to do with all the "leftover" dogs from puppy mills? Just let them rot in the wild and die? I'm happy if a rescue group is trying to find homes for these unwanted dogs. Maybe it's not fixing the long term problem of puppy mills, but the rescues certainly aren't aiding these puppy mills so they can get a "convenient" supply of dogs.
My unpopular opinion: people who give animal life the exact same level of importance have mental problems. There is a thing we can do with excess animals: put them down. Sometimes that's the best thing.
Caring about animals and working with them is not holding them superior. It is one way we can show the compassion of the human spirit. The least among us..... My teenager volunteers at a cat rescue. It brings her peace. The folks that adopt bring joy into their lives and she likes being a part of . She's a lovely girl, kind to others, funny and great with children. But animals have her heart. Just because many of you dislike pets, or animals, doesn't mean those that work with them, as volunteers, rescuers, veterinarians, etc.,don't care about starving children, etc. We all should work with the causes that bring joy and peace or have our passion.
