I get that Jordan, Gretzky, et. al also sacrificed their family time for their sports career but both of them ended that by age 45.  Either Tom really hated spending time at home and chose to break up with her by returning to football, or he is truly self absorbed and not a good man.

I think it's pretty fateful though that his season seems to be sucking!  So he's gonna play a last losing season and go through the pain of training and losing and drama only to lose his wife.  That's karma!
