I wish them both the best. But this is what happens when you issue an ultimatum. Maybe the person will abide by the ultimatum or maybe they won’t but The results are seldom good.

Yeah, no, he's not bad person, he's not bad husband, he's not bad parent, and for that matter she's none of those either. He is an addict, I still have to see one pertinent article about it, adrenaline is very addictive. I think if she were really smart enough to understand it, she would have been more lenient, she is going to regret it later, she is taking it personally, like he does not love her enough, he does not respect her enough, and it is none of that. He had to go to rehab, or just pick up some other addiction. But is she cannot sacrifice any longer and does want to go out there and live her life, that is fine, but she is going to regret it. I think they'll get back together, someone is going to open her eyes, and he is going to calm down and get out and retire and the children are going to leave the house and they are going to be by themselves making out all day long, she has no patience for it right now, her frustration with him going back on the retirement was too much and that is her right. She did wait enough years for him to wind it down but he's an addict, he's in denial and that is the result of it. They were really into each other, maximum chemistry, quite sad for them, hope they'll leave egos and frustrations aside and get back soon, as partners at least if not as husband and wife.

Some people are wondering if Giselle was seeking divorce before he returned to football and perhaps he did so to move forward on his own.

I think that's BS. If that were so, I can't imagine him not saying anything about it. Certainly returning to football is a full time endeavor and unsure how he could justify that to his kids if they really are losing their mom full-time in a divorce from him.

I can't imagine he's that stupid to play the fall guy in the court of public opinion and let her slide to divorce while everyone is going to gang up on him making the decision to return to football.

I do wonder what will become of both of them? I mean, they are both beautiful, successful, rich people who actually don't need anyone else - the hardest thing is for these people to actually find true love. I think they probably really did love each other - they made it work over a number of years after all or was it always her that did all the work? He's said that she's wanted more from him for some time.

I get that Jordan, Gretzky, et. al also sacrificed their family time for their sports career but both of them ended that by age 45. Either Tom really hated spending time at home and chose to break up with her by returning to football, or he is truly self absorbed and not a good man.

I think it's pretty fateful though that his season seems to be sucking! So he's gonna play a last losing season and go through the pain of training and losing and drama only to lose his wife. That's karma!

He's a bad person and will become more and more obvious.

I personally think there’s a lot more to it than football. I feel sad for them and their kids. They made it work for a long time. They also seemed to be in love until recently so it feels shocking.

I've always found Gisele's public persona a little off putting (she comes off as arrogant and a bit complain-y) but fully on her side here. Also, I admire the fact that she is just going through with a divorce instead of dragging it out "for the kids." She's being clear and direct and he's being ridiculous, good for her for cutting bait now rather than waiting on him to follow through on his promises. It's not like she needs him financially or couldn't find someone else who would want to be with her. Their partnership is 100% based on the idea of two very successful, ambitious people choosing to make a life together. He's not treating her like a full partner, he's treating her like the help.

Men, you've got to parent your own kids. Stop relying on your wives to do it for you. Stop assuming your wives will put everything on hold so that you can pursue other things. Be a dad! Or don't have kids.

That's the problem. The wife is always supporting the husband in his career path. When do they actually listen to the wife?! Why do the woman have to put their needs and want in the back burner. Just because you make 3x more than me does not mean I have to delay what I want to do with my life.
And if you have to ASK the father of you children to carve out some time to spend with his own kids is unacceptable even if you are making millions. It's not ok. Because they always think you will always be there. Well, she left.

There you go, he IS married to his job/hobby. Don't worry, he will be ok. Alot of women are waiting in line. The next women better know he only sees football in his dream. I don't worry about Giselle at all. It takes alot of guts to walk away.

I really thought it was all PR fake drama. Wow. Very sad.
