Trayon White doesn't care if Jews are upset at him. Jews don't live in decrepit section 8 housing in Ward 8. Jews aren't killed in drive-by shootings on Alabama Ave. Jews aren't smoking weed all day long and not graduating high school. Jews aren't having 6 kids with 6 different baby daddies. Jews are victims of predatory lending and home refinance scams. Jews are being systematically harassed by the police. But the people who voted for Trayon White are dealing with ALL those things. And White understands these issues, and is trying to improve their lives. Black people in Ward 8 don't give a damn about any holocaust. Ever hear of slavery? They got enough on their plate to deal with without being told they need to take up someone else's struggle, and be angry at one of their own who speaks truth to power.
Blacks in Ward 8 are just as much individuals as anyone else. Blacks are not a monolith, not in Ward 8 or anywhere else. Many blacks are struggling with similar challenges but they’re not all incapable of caring about anyone but themselves. Many blacks are caught up in common crises but they’re not all oblivious to the fact that discrimination/intolerance towards any group is abominable. Many blacks are mired in mutual plights but they’re not all apathetic or indifferent to the challenges, crises, and plights of others - nothing could be farther from the truth. Your sweeping generalization of blacks and insinuation that we’re all the same is a clear-cut example of the ignorant ideology that has perpetuated the challenges and crises and plights that plague or communities to this day. Plain and simply put - speak for your damn self ain’t nobody ask you or give you permission to speak for all blacks.
Concur 100%. Plain and simple. There's a lot one can say about our community, but "not giving a damn" about someone else's suffering is definitely not one of them. We are a loving people. ~Black male
